FDA Withdraws Petition for Food Additive Regulations Amendment

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) withdrew a petition to amend food additive regulations to allow the safe use of a specific chemical in food-contact paper and paperboard, without prejudice to future filing. The chemical, produced by E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Co., is used as an oil and water repellent.
