US Immigration Service Extends Work Authorization for Salvadorans Under Deferred Enforced Departure

The US Immigration and Naturalization Service has granted an automatic extension until January 31, 1996, for Salvadorans with work permits expiring on December 31, 1994, to apply for a new permit based on a pending asylum application, and for Salvadorans under the American Baptist Churches settlement agreement to file an asylum application by January 31, 1996, to remain eligible for settlement benefits.
