Cash Settlement and Regulatory Halt Requirements for Security Futures Products
The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) are proposing new rules to require national securities exchanges and associations to establish a final settlement price for cash-settled security futures products and halt trading when a regulatory halt is instituted. The proposed rules aim to clarify how exchange rules can satisfy the Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000 (CFMA).
