NMFS Rescinds Closure for Directed Fishing of Atka Mackerel in Gulf of Alaska

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is rescinding the closure to directed fishing for Atka mackerel in the Western Regulatory Area of the Gulf of Alaska to allow a 48-hour directed fishery and fully utilize the total allowable catch (TAC) of Atka mackerel in that area.
