NMFS Issues Rule to Improve Sea Turtle Exclusion in Shrimp Trawling Activities
The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has issued a rule requiring shrimp trawlers in the Gulf and Atlantic Areas to attach flotation devices to certain Turtle Excluder Devices (TEDs) to improve sea turtle exclusion.
