Service Corporation International; Prohibited Trade Practices, and Affirmative Actions

In settlement of alleged violations of federal law prohibiting unfair acts and practices and unfair methods of competition--in connection with Service Corporation International's acquisition of Uniservice Corporation--this consent order requires, among other things, the Texas corporation to divest, to a Commission-approved acquirer, the Uniservice Corporation assets and businesses in Medford, Oregon, within twelve months or transfer responsibility for the divestiture to a trustee appointed by the Commission, and to obtain prior Commission approval, for a period of ten years, before acquiring any interest in funeral establishments or cemeteries in Jackson County, Oregon.
