Proposed Generic Letter Titled ``Mark I and Mark II Steel Containments;'' Decision Not To Issue

The US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) published a proposed generic letter on November 21, 1992, recommending inservice inspection procedures for Mark I and Mark II steel containments in boiling-water reactor plants. The comment period expired on December 21, 1992, with only a citizens group supporting the issuance of the letter.
