Ohio Citizens for Responsible Energy, Inc., et al.; Denial of Petition for Rulemaking

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has denied a petition from Ohio Citizens for Responsible Energy, Inc. (OCRE) to reopen the rulemaking procedure for the 'Anticipated Transient Without Scram' (ATWS) rule, citing that large power oscillations will not impact the core and containment response sufficiently to invalidate previous ATWS analyses.
