Summary Report on the Status of Petitions for Rulemaking; Frequency

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is amending its regulations to reduce the frequency of the summary report on the status of petitions for rulemaking, which is included in the NRC Regulatory Agenda, from quarterly to semiannually. This action is necessary because the NRC has reduced the publication of the NRC Regulatory Agenda from quarterly to semiannually as the status of rulemaking actions and petitions for rulemaking is not subject to frequent change. The final rule reduces the level of NRC staff effort, paperwork, and distribution costs.
