EPA Approves Texas Air Quality Plan for ASARCO Smelter

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has approved a revised Texas State Implementation Plan (SIP) that waives certain requirements for the ASARCO copper smelter in El Paso, Texas, allowing the use of an alternate particulate control plan for unpaved roads instead of paving.
