EPA Proposes New Regulation for Municipal Waste Combustors
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing a new regulation to limit emissions from new municipal waste combustors (MWCs) that began construction after September 20, 1994. The proposed rule would set emission limits for pollutants such as sulfur dioxide, particulate matter, and dioxins, and would require MWCs to achieve the maximum degree of reduction in emissions while considering costs and environmental impacts.
