Approval and Promulgation of Implementation Plans; Illinois

On May 25, 1994, the USEPA proposed to conditionally approve a State Implementation Plan (SIP) request for Lake Calumet, McCook, and Granite City, Illinois. The request was submitted by the State of Illinois for the purpose of bringing about the attainment of the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) for particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter less than or equal to a nominal 10 micrometers (PM). Public comments were solicited on the proposed SIP revision, and on USEPA's proposed rulemaking action. The public comment period ended on June 24, 1994, and two public comment letters were received. This rulemaking action conditionally approves, in final, the SIP revision request for Lake Calumet, McCook, and Granite City, Illinois as requested by Illinois.
