EPA Proposes Exemption for Monterey Bay Ozone Nonattainment Area from NOX Reduction Requirements

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to exempt the Monterey Bay Unified Air Pollution Control District's (MBUAPCD) ozone nonattainment area from implementing Reasonably Available Control Technology (RACT) for oxides of nitrogen (NOX) reductions, citing that additional reductions would not contribute to ozone attainment in areas outside the ozone transport region.
