Modification of Class D Airspace and Establishment of Class E Airspace in Virginia

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is modifying Class D airspace at Newport News, VA, and establishing Class E airspace at various locations in the state, including Lynchburg, Manassas, and Wallops Island, to clarify when two-way radio communication with air traffic control towers is required and to provide adequate airspace for instrument approach procedures when towers are closed.
