FAA Issues Airworthiness Directive Amendment for Pratt & Whitney JT9D Series Turbofan Engines

The FAA has issued an Airworthiness Directive (AD) amendment for Pratt & Whitney JT9D series turbofan engines, revising an existing directive that requires eddy current inspection and modification of the diffuser case rear rail, and removal of the diffuser case if necessary. The amendment corrects an error in paragraph numbering and allows modification of diffuser cases as an alternative means of compliance, prompted by comments received after the issuance of AD 93-19-02.
