McDonnell Douglas Model DC-9-80 Series and MD-88 Airplanes: Airworthiness Directive Amendment Requires PTU Modification

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued an airworthiness directive amendment for certain McDonnell Douglas Model DC-9-80 series and MD-88 airplanes, requiring modification of the power transfer unit to address fatigue cracks in the drain port housings, which could lead to loss of hydraulic systems if not addressed.
