FAA Issues Airworthiness Directive for Hamilton Standard Propellers
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued an airworthiness directive (AD) for Hamilton Standard 14RF, 247F, 14SF, and 6/5500/F series propellers, which requires increased inspection intervals for propellers with a ballscrew quill damper installed, in an effort to prevent tooth wear in the propeller control unit servo ballscrew internal spline (BIS) assembly.
