NHTSA Receives Petition for Importation of 1989 Toyota Land Cruiser MPVs

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has received a petition from a company requesting a decision that 1989 Toyota Land Cruiser multi-purpose passenger vehicles, which do not meet all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards, can be imported into the US due to their similarity to a certified US-compliant vehicle and their ability to be modified to meet safety standards.
