Jetstream Aircraft Limited to Install Improved Flap Torque Tube Shaft Assembly to Replace Repetitive Inspections

The Federal Aviation Administration has approved an amendment to Airworthiness Directive (AD) 87-04-04 and AD 89-16-02, requiring the installation of an improved flap torque tube shaft assembly on Jetstream Aircraft Limited (JAL) HP 137 Mk1, Jetstream series 200, and Jetstream Models 3101 and 3201 airplanes to eliminate repetitive inspections and limit the in-service life of the torque tube shaft assembly.
