FRA Extends Comment Period for Proposed Rulemaking on Freight Car Safety Standards

The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) is extending the comment period for its notice of proposed rulemaking to amend the Freight Car Safety Standards, allowing more time for interested parties to submit comments on the proposed changes, which would subject all maintenance-of-way vehicles to the standards, except for certain stenciled cars not used in revenue service and restricted to speeds of less than 20 miles per hour.
