Portugal Added to BSE-Infected Countries List, Import Restrictions Imposed

The US is updating its regulations to include Portugal due to the detection of bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) in native cattle, restricting the importation of certain animal products and byproducts from the country to minimize the risk of BSE introduction.
