Changes to Bank Secrecy Act Regulations for Large Cash Transactions
The Bank Secrecy Act requires financial institutions to verify and record the identity of customers purchasing large cash transactions, such as bank checks and traveler's checks, exceeding $3,000. A new Final Rule reduces the required information and eliminates the need to maintain a centralized log of sales, effective immediately.
