Groundfish of the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands Area

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has determined an emergency exists in the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands groundfish fisheries due to an unusually large number of salmon caught incidentally in 1993. NMFS is implementing emergency management measures to address this issue and prevent conservation and management problems in the 1994 pollock non-roe season.
