NMFS Reopens Sablefish Hook-and-Line Fishery in Gulf of Alaska Amidst Groundfish Emergency

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has temporarily reopened the sablefish hook-and-line fishery in specific areas of the Gulf of Alaska (GOA) to preserve economic opportunities during the September 12-14, 1994, Pacific halibut fishery opening, while also increasing sablefish fishing limits in the Southeast Outside District of the GOA.
