Bureau of Export Administration Amends Export Administration Regulations to Conform with Missile Technology Control Regime Revisions

The Bureau of Export Administration (BXA) is revising the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) to align with the Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR) Equipment and Technology Annex, aiming to limit the proliferation of missiles capable of delivering weapons of mass destruction. The revisions, based on technical consultations with MTCR countries in 1993, ensure that the United States' controlled items are similar to those of other participating countries.
