NMFS Prohibits Groundfish Fishing in Gulf of Alaska Using Trawl Gear

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has restricted directed fishing for groundfish in the Gulf of Alaska (GOA) to only those vessels using pelagic trawl gear, due to the depletion of the 1994 Pacific halibut prohibited species catch (PSC) limit for trawl gear in the region.
