In settlement of alleged violations of federal law prohibiting unfair acts and practices and unfair methods of competition, this consent order requires among other things, the New Jersey corporation and its officer to pay $1.45 million to the United States Treasury, prohibits the respondents from making misrepresentations regarding the efficacy of their bodybuilding and weight loss products, and requires them to possess competent and reliable scientific evidence to substantiate future bodybuilding and weight loss claims. In addition, the order restricts the use of endorsements, including ``before'' and ``after'' pictures, which do not represent the typical experience of users.
