Removal of Transferred OTS Regulations Regarding Deposits

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) is adopting a final rule to rescind and remove a subpart from the Code of Federal Regulations entitled "Deposits," applicable to State savings associations, because the subpart is duplicative of other rules and statutes and is unnecessary to the regulation of State savings associations. The FDIC did not receive any comments on the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPR) and is finalizing the rule as proposed.

Agency Information Collection Activities: Proposed Collection Renewal; Comment Request

The FDIC, as part of its obligations under the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, invites the general public and other Federal agencies to take this opportunity to comment on the request to renew the existing information collections described below (OMB Control No. 3064-0140; -0176). The notices of proposed renewal for these information collections were previously published in the Federal Register on July 2, 2026, allowing for a 60-day comment period. No comments were received.

Reciprocal Deposits: Implementing the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) is amending its brokered deposit regulations to conform with recent changes to section 29 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act made by section 902 of the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act related to reciprocal deposits, which took effect on July 11, 2026.
