U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Reopens Comment Period for Endangered Species Listing on Hawaii Island
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is reopening the comment period for its 2012 proposal to list 15 species as endangered and designate critical habitat on the Hawaiian island of Hawaii, as well as for two plant species already listed as endangered, under the Endangered Species Act of 1973. The agency is also releasing a draft economic analysis and seeking comments on the proposal, following the discovery of new information about one of the proposed species.
