FAA Amends Exhaust Emissions Standards for New Aircraft Gas Turbine Engines
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has updated the emission standards for turbine engine-powered airplanes to align with the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) 2012 regulations, as mandated by the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1970. The revised standards cover oxides of nitrogen, exhaust emissions testing, and engine identification and marking requirements, based on International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards.
