NMFS Prohibits Pacific Cod Fishing by Catcher Vessels in Gulf of Alaska

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has prohibited directed fishing for Pacific cod by catcher vessels using hook-and-line gear in the Western Regulatory Area of the Gulf of Alaska to prevent exceeding the allocated catch allowance for the 2012 Pacific cod total allowable catch.
