NMFS Prohibits Pacific Cod Fishing in Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands Management Area

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has prohibited directed fishing for Pacific cod by catcher vessels using trawl gear in the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands management area due to concerns about exceeding the 2012 total allowable catch limit for trawl catcher vessels in the region.
