U.S. Proposes New Swordfish Quotas and Management Measures for North and South Atlantic

The U.S. Department of Commerce's National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has proposed a new rule to implement ICCAT Recommendation 11-02, which sets the framework for managing swordfish fisheries in the North and South Atlantic. The proposed rule aims to maintain the current quota allocation, limit carryover, and adjust quotas for the 2012 fishing year based on 2011 underharvests and landings.
