FHFA Proposes New System to Replace Abolished OFHEO System for Reporting Mortgage Fraud
The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) is proposing a new system of records, the 'Fraud Reporting System' (FHFA-6), to replace the 'Mortgage Fraud System' (OFHEO-07) issued by its predecessor agency, the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight (OFHEO), which was abolished on July 30, 2009, in accordance with the Privacy Act of 1974. The new system will collect information on fraud or possible fraud involving regulated entities such as the Federal National Mortgage Association, the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, and the Federal Home Loan Banks.
