FCC Proposes Changes to Enable More Efficient Use of 1920-1930 MHz Band for Unlicensed Personal Communications Services Devices
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is proposing rule changes to allow Unlicensed Personal Communications Service (UPCS) devices to more efficiently use the 1920-1930 MHz band, a move in response to a petition from the Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications Forum (DECT). The current rules restrict UPCS devices from accessing channels with high radio noise levels, even when those channels are still usable.
