FCC Seeks Comment on Global Tel*Link Corporation's Petition for Expedited Clarification and Declaratory Ruling on TCPA Applicability

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is seeking public comment on a petition by Global Tel*Link Corporation, a company that provides phone services to prisons, regarding the applicability of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and FCC rules to its use of automated notifications before completing calls to certain individuals. Global Tel is seeking a declaratory ruling that the TCPA and associated rules do not apply to its practices.
