EPA Proposes Approval of California's PM-10 Redesignation and Maintenance Plan for Coso Junction Planning Area
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to approve California's request to redesignate the Coso Junction planning area to attainment for the particulate matter of ten microns or less (PM-10) national ambient air quality standard (NAAQS), which is currently designated as moderate nonattainment. The redesignation would also approve the PM-10 emissions inventory and maintenance plan for the area, including control measures for Owens Lake, the primary cause of PM-10 nonattainment.
