EPA Establishes Significant New Use Rule for Elemental Mercury in Flow Meters and Pyrometers

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is requiring manufacturers and importers of elemental mercury to notify the agency 90 days prior to using it in flow meters, natural gas manometers, and pyrometers, due to concerns over its potential environmental impact, with the exception of existing equipment installed before September 11, 2009.
