EPA Grants Temporary Exemption for Prohydrojasmon on Red Apple Varieties

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has granted a temporary exemption from the requirement of a tolerance for residues of prohydrojasmon, a biochemical pesticide, on red apple varieties. This exemption, which was requested by Fine Agrochemicals, Ltd. under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, allows for the use of prohydrojasmon as a plant growth-regulator without establishing a maximum permissible level for residues.
