EPA Approves Texas Redesignation of Beaumont/Port Arthur Ozone Nonattainment Area to Attainment for 1997 8-Hour Ozone Standard

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has finalized its approval of Texas' request to redesignate the Beaumont/Port Arthur ozone nonattainment area to attainment of the 1997 8-hour ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS), based on complete and certified ambient air quality monitoring data from 2006-2008, and preliminary data showing continued attainment in 2009 and 2010.
