EPA Approves One-Year Extension for Atlanta, GA Ozone Attainment Date

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has finalized a determination that the State of Georgia has met the Clean Air Act requirements, approving a one-year extension of the 1997 8-hour ozone moderate attainment date for the Atlanta, GA Area, which will now expire on June 15, 2011, instead of June 15, 2010.
