EPA Approves Alabama's Revised State Implementation Plan for Greenhouse Gas Emissions
The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has approved a revision to the State Implementation Plan (SIP) submitted by the State of Alabama, which updates the state's air quality regulations to better regulate greenhouse gas emissions. The revision, submitted on December 14, 2010, aims to prevent the PSD permitting requirements from overwhelming Alabama's permitting resources, which would have taken effect on January 2, 2011.
