EPA Finds Seven States Have Failed to Submit Required Revisions to State Implementation Plans for Greenhouse Gas Emissions

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has found that seven states, including Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Idaho, Kansas, Oregon, and Wyoming, have failed to submit required revisions to their state implementation plans (SIPs) to comply with the Clean Air Act's Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) requirements for greenhouse gas emissions. The EPA has set a deadline of December 22, 2010, for these states to submit the necessary revisions, and is now taking action to establish a federal implementation plan (FIP) to address the issue.
