U.S. Coast Guard to Enforce Safety Zone on Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal

The U.S. Coast Guard will enforce a safety zone on the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal from August 12 to August 16, 2013, to protect waterways and vessels from hazards associated with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' dispersal barriers performance testing. During the enforcement periods, entry into the safety zone is prohibited unless authorized by the Captain of the Port, Lake Michigan.
