Coast Guard Expands Bulk Packaging Rules for Hazardous Liquid Cargoes

The US Coast Guard is updating its regulations to allow for the transfer of hazardous liquid cargoes in bulk packaging, including International Maritime Organization (IMO) Type 1 and Type 2 portable tanks, United Nations (UN) portable tanks, and Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs), eliminating the need for special permits or Competent Authority Approvals.
