Michigan State Police Completes Inventory of Human Remains, Opens Transfer Process for Lineal Descendants and Native Tribes

The Michigan State Police, Mount Pleasant Post, has completed an inventory of human remains in consultation with Native Hawaiian organizations, determining a cultural affiliation with present-day tribes. Lineal descendants or representatives of unlisted tribes can submit a written request to transfer control of the remains.
