Burke Museum Completes Inventory of Human Remains, Opens Door for Transfer to Lineal Descendants or Native Tribes
The Thomas Burke Memorial Washington State Museum, University of Washington, has completed an inventory of human remains, determining a cultural affiliation with present-day Indian tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations. The museum invites lineal descendants or representatives of unmentioned tribes to submit a written request for transfer of control, with the option to proceed without further requests if none are made.
