University of Michigan Completes Inventory of Human Remains, Announces Transfer Process

The University of Michigan has completed its inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects, concluding that there is no cultural affiliation with present-day Native American tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations. The university invites representatives of unrepresented tribes to submit a written request to transfer control of the remains.
