US Food Safety and Inspection Service Announces Electronic Filing of Import Inspection Applications for Meat, Poultry, and Egg Products
The US Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is releasing a draft compliance guide for US importers and brokers on electronic filing of import inspection applications for certain meat, poultry, and egg products through the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE), a web-based portal for international trade data collection maintained by US Customs and Border Protection (CBP). FSIS also plans to test data transfer from the Participating Government Agency (PGA) Message Set in ACE to its data analytics system, the Public Health Information System (PHIS), and invites US importers and brokers to review the draft guide and participate in the pilot program.
