USDA Amends National Organic Program to Update National List of Allowed and Prohibited Substances

The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has finalized a rule to update the National List of Allowed and Prohibited Substances, enacting recommendations from the National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) to expand exemptions for organic crop production and handling practices, while removing nonorganic annatto extract color.
